J P Auto Repair has been in business a mere 6 years but has made a name for itself as one of the most reliable and economical independent auto repair shops in the Charleston and surrounding areas.  Founded by John Porterfield,  who is an ASE - Master Certified Technician with over 35 years experience in auto repair,  restoring classic cars and professional racing.

We are a family owned and operated business whose employees and families have worked and grown up in  the Charleston area for many decades.  WE strongly believe in employing not just mechanics or technicians,  but grease monkeys.  The term grease monkey is endearingly used in our profession to represent the inherent love for repairing cars.
